From Semič you can also go to Smuk, from Črnomelj to Mirna gora.
What about to Lisca from Sevnica.

From Poljčane, Boč is super accessible as already mentioned. Of course, Donačka gora is also excellently accessible from Poljčane and then descent to the train in Rogatec in a somewhat more concrete tour. A somewhat longer variant via Boč and Donačka gora... continuing via the church of Sv. Donat, Vrhe pass to the source of Sotla and descent to the railway station Sv. Rok ob Sotli - not far from the Dobovec border crossing. A real ultra activity would also include the highest peak of Haloze Jelovica... and there are more and more such ,,real EKO,, combinations. Trains to Poljčane practically every hour and even more frequently, while from Sv. Rok ob Sotli... to Rogatec unfortunately much fewer connections.

Years ago I met a guy on Donačka gora who had already loaded over 7 stamps and he told me that he quite often during the year on Wednesdays connects from Poljčane via Boč - Donačka gora and descends to Rogatec, while his wife goes on Wednesdays to the meeting of the local retirees' association. Nothing else, really nice and praiseworthy...

In autumn & winter months I plan on Sundays quite a few combinations from Poljčane along the Štajerska bratska pot and also less known paths with train combination......Source of Sotla RiverLp

If the topic is still relevant for someone: trial from 27.8.2012-31.12.2012 KAMBUS runs on Kamnik - Kamniška Bistrica route. More info at: www.kamnik-tourism.si or tel. 01 8309 414. Years ago buses ran to Pokljuka and allegedly to Vršič. Does anyone have fresh (2012) info on this?

Another starting point from Medvode: Slavkov dom, Petelinc, Katarina, Sv.Jakob, Jetrbenk, SV, Marjeta. Starting at Medvode station, then towards Preska village (already from station you see church and school on the hillock). At the cemetery which is a few minutes from station there are signposts. Walk for a few hours, pleasant, through forest. Especially from Sv. Jakob nice view to Karavanke, Kamnik-Savinja Alps, Triglav visible too. From less noticeable peak Rog besides mentioned also view towards Krim, Snežnik, Nanos, Kurešček and further ... Nice circular tour: SV.Marjeta in Žlebi, Rog, Sv. Jakob, past Mamovec farm back to Žlebi and towards Preska and Medvode station. But it's several hours walk. On weekends several inns open at Katarina, but then also some more "crowd".

There are also rail connections with northern neighbors nasmeh and western too zavijanje z očmi so you can, say, stretch climbing from Friday afternoon to Sunday evening cool The more you google the more you find out (and (too) much time wasted zmeden )
